No. The faith in Jesus Christ
(Romans 3:22) and the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
(Romans 3:24) are only universal in the sense that there is no distinction
(Romans 3:22), that is, between Jew or Gentile. This universality proclaimed in Romans 3:22–24 forms the fortunate reverse side of the earthly reality that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
(Romans 3:23; more broadly in Romans 2:1–3:20). Because of the general denial of God, humanity today misses out on the presence of God which is why they do not share in his glory (Greek: doxa
). Now that God’s wrath from heaven becomes apparent because of the ingratitude of humanity (Romans 1:18–23), this world has become a world without glory, given over to a shameful distortion of human relationships (Romans 1:24–32). The gospel, however, wants to lead humanity as a whole, that is, believers from all nations and all over the world, back to the Creator and thereby transform the world into the divine glory of his edifying and peaceful Justitia.1
