What do Paul and Barnabas hope to achieve with their speech?
Acts 14:14 (ESV)
14But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out,
Paul and Barnabas try their best to stop the people from bringing a sacrifice to them and treating them as if they were gods. Their speech is aimed at correcting this way of thinking.1 Once again, we do not have everything which they said to the people but just a summary of their speech.2
