Why does Paul say they took Jesus down from the tree?
Acts 13:29 (ESV)
29And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.
Paul is referring to the cross on which Jesus was crucified. Since the cross was made of wood, he refers to it as a tree. After his death, Jesus was buried in a tomb (Luke 23:50–53).
29 And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.
