What does it mean for Bar-Jesus to be a Jewish sorcerer and a false prophet?

Acts 13:6 (ESV)

6 When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain magician, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus.

A Jewish sorcerer is a sorcerer who has a Jewish descent. A sorcerer is someone who was skilled in the use of incantations with the goal of influencing or controlling spiritual powers so as to overcome public or private problems. A false prophet is someone who claimed to have special revelation and insight from the spiritual world for pronouncements which are false.1
