How did the disciples help the brothers living in Judea?

Acts 11:29 (ESV)

29 So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.

Most likely the believers in Antioch gave money. This money would then be taken to the church in Jerusalem so that it can be used to help buy food when the famine comes and the grain prices increase dramatically.1 Where those of a Jewish background brought a message of salvation to the Gentiles, now those from a Gentile background will provide material support to believers from a Jewish background.2
