The book of Acts recounts the spread of the early church and the manner in which Christ works to take the gospel from Jerusalem, to Samaria and finally to the ends of the world (Acts 1:8). Your sermon from Acts 11:1–18 will explain the reason for the repetition of details regarding Peter’s visit with Cornelius. You will mention how this was needed to change the thinking of believers from a Jewish background, and also to challenge the church today and our sinful tendency to erect barriers to fellowship.
