In the Old Testament, the Lord made it clear that he does not show favouritism (see Deuteronomy 10:17; 2 Chronicles 19:7). The language is used in the context of a judgment. The Lord does not accept a bribe and he does not show favouritism. That is to say, when it comes to God’s standards for judgment, it is the same for everyone. Every person made in his image will be judged according to the moral standards revealed in God’s law (see Matthew 22:37–40; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 3:25).1
