Who are the brothers from Joppa and why does Peter invite them along?
Acts 10:23 (ESV)
23So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
The brothers are male believers living in Joppa. Peter most likely asked them to accompany him so that he could have witnesses to his conduct and to whatever happens when he gets to the home of Cornelius.1 In Acts 11:12 we are told that six men joined him on his journey, along with the visitors.2
