Songs for 1 Samuel 25:1–44

1 Samuel 25:1–44 (ESV)

1 Now Samuel died. And all Israel assembled and mourned for him, and they buried him in his house at Ramah.

Psalm 4

James tells us in his letter, My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. We all know how easy it is to respond in sinful ways when we have been angered and hurt (like David was). In Psalm 4, the Holy Spirit encourages us not to sin when we are angry, but instead to meditate and ponder in our hearts on our beds. Thus this could be a good song to sing in response to your sermon.
